1Overview

Taskat ("Taskat", "we", "us", or "our") provides a productivity application, including a mobile app, that helps people track tasks, log events, follow up on projects, and share events with other users (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you.

By creating an account or using Taskat, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what we collect automatically as you use the app, and what we receive from other users when they interact with you.

You control how much task and event detail you enter. Fields like notes and attachments are optional.

3How we use your information

• To operate core features: task tracking, event logging, follow-up reminders and project organization.
• To let you share specific tasks, events, or project timelines with other Taskat users you choose.
• To send reminders and notifications about due tasks, upcoming events, and follow-ups you've opted into.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including diagnosing bugs and preventing abuse.
• To communicate with you about your account, updates to this policy, or support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your private tasks or events to serve third-party advertising.

4Sharing events & data with other users

Taskat's sharing features are opt-in and granular. Tasks and logged events are private by default and are only visible to other users when you explicitly share them.

• When you share an event or task with another user, that person can see the content you've chosen to share (e.g. title, date, notes) and, depending on your settings, your name and profile photo.
• When you're added to a shared project, you can see the tasks and events shared within that project by its members.
• You can revoke access to a previously shared task, event, or project at any time from within the app.
• We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate Taskat (for example, cloud hosting, push notification delivery, or customer support tools), under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing those services.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of Taskat, our users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

5Data retention

We retain your account, task, and event data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete a task, event, or your account, we remove it from active systems within a reasonable period, though residual copies may remain in backups for a limited time before being purged.

6Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights:

• Update or correct your profile and preferences directly in the app.
• Adjust sharing permissions for individual tasks, events, or projects at any time.
• Turn off optional data collection, such as location access, from your device settings.
• Request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by contacting us.

8Cookies & tracking

Our website uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences, and limited analytics cookies to help us understand how the site is used. The mobile app does not use browser cookies but may use similar device identifiers for analytics and crash reporting. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

9Children's privacy

Taskat is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

10International data transfers

Taskat may process and store information on servers located outside your country of residence. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect information transferred internationally.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
